It could be cool. Just make sure you really know what you're getting into before you do it.

Yep... right with Deb on that one. Take precautions. Like learning basic carpentry and repair. Basic electrical repair and installation. Basic First Aid so you can actually survive the hour long trip to a cut-rate hospital. You may want to think about a weeks vacation there when Winter Break comes around this year. Give it a try then and see what happens. As a test case :D Be is massive and can shovel the snow. You have general woodsy knowledge... and how bad can the Yeti's really be? (JK):D

HE IS NOT YOUR EX... dammit ;) We stayed in a camp in NY state a year before I had #3 son. Interesting doesn't begin to describe it. I loved the views. I loved the fact that it was one of 2 houses on an HUGE lake. I didn't like the nasty water IN the lake. I definitely didn't like the biting flies (FLIES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BITE, DAMMIT!!). I thought the bear cub at the door during breakfast was funny, and the fact that he ran towards people sleeping in tents a few hundred yards away even funnier. (OH BOY was that funny.) I love the peace and quiet, but hated the 30 minute ride on a gravel road in a bouncy pick-up truck with a squeaky cab to get to a store (and not even a good one). I loved Stillwater Reservoir, but thought some of the other towns along the long and desolate road to be ... freakyish. I did, however, like a few of the towns for their quaintness and ultimate-outdoors-coolness. I would be careful in the winter (uh, who uses CHAINS anymore??) and understand that if an ambulance or medical care is needed that it is a LONG-ass ride to anything with electricity. All in all, I'm extremely happy for you... maybe bordering a little innocent jealousy and wish you all the best with your camp. May the squirrel knicknacks live in infamy!!
