Sorry for the loss. Many men of your grandfather's era just weren't raised to show any love. The fact that he came to you in a dream suggests there was a greater connection than he ever showed in person. On the other hand I think you hit a key point - I'd take love over money any day.

I'm sorry for your loss, Hil. Deb said it all - he cared for you to call in on his passing. xxx

Some people just think money talks, in a way that does a better job than talking themselves. But they're not always lesser people because of it. *hugz* You'll be fine, and so will your grandma. Smashxxx

My sympathies during this time of loss...sympathy for those that will miss him, as well as for those unable to miss him because he didn't let them close enough. You obviously mattered to him because he spent the energy to visit you. This is a reminder to always let those we love know what they mean to us. *hugs*

Sorry for your loss, and hoping your visit will ease your Grandmother's pain. Deb is right, many of that generation never learned to openly express their love. But a man of that era who played skin-the-cat with a little girl clearly loved her.

The happiest is the person who suffers the least pain; the most miserable who enjoys the least pleasure.
