You pretty much know who I am, because I expose myself way too much in my blog. I read you because you read me first, and I find your drama similar to mine. I like poppyseed salad dressing. I simplify Christmas by only buying for my child. Everyone else gets a homemade trinket, and my love and loyalty throughout the year. Cutting off all negative relationships that you hated gifting in the first place is also a plus.

I don't always lurk, but mostly do. I read because you are - pagan, funny, have a dramatic writing style, and your life is different than my own. I like ranch dressing. I agree with artgnome on the simplification. Spend what you can afford on the kids, then everyone else gets food or handmade gifts.

..here i am! you know me! i'm not really into salad dressing, but i really like coffee! i don't know if it's possible to downsize christmas, especially when kids are involved. i don't think, as a kid, i ever would have recovered if my parents had resisted having such a big christmas. that urge only makes sense when you're a grown-up and stressed out. celebrate! be a kid!

Greeting Thriller. I be For-Tart. A living, breathing Texan without a Stetson or boots, but still a man of the land and all that is outdoors. I like my salads with blue cheese dressing and if you want to downsize Christmas next year may I suggest the Jewish faith. Shalom.

I'm Kourtney. I came to you THIS time through a post on LA's comments. I came to you the FIRST time through Melissa, who I used to go to college with. I got here about a month ago, after....4 years????? Something like that. I don't like salad, or salad dressing, but I DO like putting vinegar on cucumbers and peppers. What do you mean by downsize? Spend less money, buy for fewer people, not make a big deal out of it....? 1. Spend less money- make stuff 2. Make spending money hurt less- start shopping in January, buy one gift a month. OR Donate money in your gift recipients' names to a cause like Heifer International: your money goes to a good place and there are many levels of giving. You get a card for each $10 donation (which is a share of a sheep, seedlings, share of a goat, etc) and those cards can be what you give to people. Check it out: http://www.heifer.org/ The warm fuzzy feeling of giving x2 (recipient of the card/recipient of the donation). 3. Buy for fewer people- tell people that you would like to skip exchanging gifts next year; tell them early. 4. Make less of a big deal out of it: I don't know, Christmas was always a big deal. We had traditions which were as much fun as the presents when I was a kid. Maybe focus on some traditions? 5. Stop celebrating Christmas...but who wants to do that?
